Patterson, Reuben Allan, 75, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born on January 20, 1938 in Windsor, he was the son of the late Clarence and Edith (Mosher) Patterson. Reuben was a carpenter and self-employed woodsman. He looked after the St. George’s Anglican Church Cemetery and hall for many years. Surviving are his daughter, Vera (James) Ward, Newport, Hants County; son, Allan Patterson, Cameron Lake; grandchildren, Jason Ward, Ryan and Mitchell Patterson; two great-grandchildren, Brody Ward and William Patterson; brother, Everette Patterson, Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth; sisters, Louise (William) Sabean, Falmouth; Dorothy (Kevin) Walker, Windsor; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Lester Hill (Carol Anne Brown), Falmouth and Donald “Bruce” (Faye) Hill, Falmouth; sister-in-law, Valerie (Bruce) Carey, Falmouth. Predeceased by his wife the former, Ellen Hill; brothers, Lloyd, Gilbert, Ronnie, Gordon, Robert, Francis; sisters, Geneva Coles, Lena MacDonald, Marjorie Robarts, Jean Hunter and two in infancy. Reuben’s family would like to extend a special thank-you to the wonderful staff at the Windsor Elms Village especially the staff on Osprey, house three. There was no visitation by request. Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in St. George’s Anglican Church, Upper Falmouth. Rev. Tom Henderson officiated. Interment was in the St. George’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Upper Falmouth.Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
