The death occurred peacefully at the Community Hospital, O’Leary, with family and special friend Annie Gallant and nephew Thane by his side, on Tuesday December 31, 2013 of Wilfred J. Veno formerly of Tignish aged 86 years. He was born in Palmer Road on May 9, 1927, the son of the late John and Angelina (Bernard) Veno.
He is survived by special friend Annie Gallant, O’Leary and the following brothers and sisters Johnny Veno, Bertha Griffin, Thelma McGuire all of Summerside, Leslie (Lillian) Veno, Antigonish, NS; Shirley (Alfred) O’Halloran, Cape Wolfe; Diane (Laurie) Shaw, Stoney Creek, Ont. and Barbara Veno, Summerside. He is also survived by Annie’s children Jimmy, Laurie, Terry, Marjorie, Bernie, Trish, Beth and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine nee Arsenault, parents John and Angelina, sisters Doreen also Eleanor, Mary, Zeta in infancy, brothers-in-law Kenny Callaghan and Myles Griffin, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Zella Arsenault.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 3 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
A reception will follow at the Palmer Road Community Hall for family and friends.
