WESTVILLE – Eleanor MacGillivary (MacGregor) Morrell, 85, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in the Manor, surrounded by her family.
Born in Westville on December 2, 1928, she was the youngest daughter of the late Willard Witmore and Evelyn Edgar (Fraser) MacGregor.
She served as the Regional Co-ordinator for the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation for 22 years. Eleanor was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville and the Order of the Eastern Star, Westville Chapter No. 24. She was a resilient lady, who loved her family passionately and lived life to the fullest.
Surviving are sons, Fraser (Kim) Morrell, Kamloops, B.C.; Darrell (Deanna) Morrell, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Brooke (Ron) Keely, Carley Morrell, Jackson (Shayna) Morrell, all of British Columbia; Zachery, Jordan and Makayla Morrell, New Glasgow; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Damian and Annabelle Clark, Logan and Landon MacEachern and Trace Morrell; nieces, Evelyn (Paul) Crouse, Stewiacke; Dianne (Jerry) Grimm, Houlton, Maine; Jean White, Mars Hill, Maine; nephew, Clayton (Carole) Grimm, Topsham, Maine.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Earl Emerson Morrell; sisters, Lois Grimm and Margaret MacPherson; brother, Fraser MacGregor.
A private family graveside service will take place in Auburn Cemetery, Westville at a later date.
Donations may be made in Eleanor’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
The Morrell family wish to thank all those who have assisted mom’s journey, especially her niece, Evelyn who was always there for her.
