KNOWLES, John Ernest- 64 of Pictou passed away January 2, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Pictou, he was a son of Betty (Hinde) and the late Ernest Knowles. John worked for many years at the Pictou and Halifax shipyards and enjoyed cruising around on his scooter and visiting his many friends in Pictou. John is survived by his wife, Sandra (MacMillan), Pictou; children, Stacy (Matt), New Glasgow; Tim, Pictou; Jody (Derek), Charlottetown; Jonathan, and Chris, both of Pictou; grandchildren, Chris, Matthew, Sabrina, and J.C. John is also survived by brothers, Mike, Chris, Tracy, and Sean; sisters, Susan, Dee Dee, Monica, and Janie. Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM Monday in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held at 2PM Tuesday with Jacquie Ross officiating.
