HICKS, SHELDON - With his family by his side, the death of Sheldon Frank Hicks, 75, of Midgic, occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2014. Born in Midgic, Sheldon was a son of the late Ross and Rhoda (Kay) Hicks. Sheldon was a member of the Midgic Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and trapping, and taught his family everything they know about the outdoors. From his passion for farming, he provided for his much beloved family. Sheldon will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn (nee Wry) of Midgic; four daughters, Jennifer (Tony) Wood, Wood Point, Alicia (Ernie) Richardson, Aulac, Jena (Colin) Estabrooks, Midgic and Cindy (Jody) Wheaton, Edmonton; three sons, Lawrence, Sackville, Anthony (Rhonda), Point de Bute, and Bradley (Kelly), Midgic; twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Courtney, Oakley, and Arnold; a sister, Alberta as well as many niceces and nephews. Besides his parents, Sheldon was predeceased by two brothers, Kirk and Mitchell; a sister, Ruth and great grandchildren, Leah and Noah.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation at the funeral home on Monday, January, 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from the Midgic Baptist Church. Pastor Hal Lowther officiating. Interment will be held in the spring in the Midgic Cemetery.
