Peacefully at her home and surrounded by family on Thursday, October 16, 2008, of Velda O’Brien (nee Doucette) of Marshfield and formerly of Stratford, age 70 years. Beloved wife of Paul O’Brien. Loving mother of Donna Kelly (Reggie) and Darryl O’Brien (Kathy). Velda will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Shane, Matthew and Benjamin O’Brien and Devin, Ryan and Darcy Kelly; sisters Doris McKenna (Billy), Anna Richter (Conrad), Merina Currie (Harley), Janette Deagle (Charlie), Christine Barbour (Lowel), and brother Pat Doucette (Brenda). She was predeceased by her son, Ken O’Brien; parents Fred and Albina Doucette; and brother Erik Doucette. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Friday, October 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Transferred to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, for celebration of funeral mass on Saturday, October 18, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
