SELLARS, H. WINNIFRED - H. Winnifred Sellars, wife of the late Roy P. Sellars, passed away peacefully at Auberge Du Soleil, Dieppe, NB, on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 at age of 88 years. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on January 18th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emily (March) Pottle. Winnifred is survived by son, Don (Heather), St. John’s, NL, daughters, Sharon DeLong, Saint John, NB, and Jennifer McArdle (Dan), Moncton, NB; sister Florence Murphy; sister-in-law Ann Pottle, both of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren Lesley, Christopher, Cheryl, Stephen, Susan, Jillian, Kari and Mark and their families, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her infant sister, Valletta Pottle, brothers, Thomas and Wallace Pottle, sister-in-law Mary Pottle and brother-in-law Terrance Murphy.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, January 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, immediately followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Dr. Beverly Daley, officiating. A reception will follow in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, VOWR Radio Station in St. John’s, NL, or the donor’s choice.
