It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mae Irene Barry announce her passing on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her seven children: Laura (Dave) Walbourne, Peter Barry, Gord (Lana) Barry, Regina (Stirling) Hann, Robert (Janice) Barry, Marie (John) Campbell and Steven (Terri-Lynn) Barry; grandchildren: Tracy (Jason) Baker, Stephanie (Eddy) Park, Wayne Hann, Jon-Michael Barry, Adam, (Wanda Lee) Christopher Barry, (Melissa) Jonathan Campbell, Rhianna Barry, Angela Campbell, Shae Lynn Barry, Olivia Barry, and Tyson Barry; great-grandchildren: Ethan Barry, Carson Baker and Alexander Barry; brother, Gordon (Nettie) Peckford (Gander); sisters: Joan (Harold) Collins, (St. John’s), Regina (Bob) Woody, (Maryland, USA) Ada Ralph, (Gander); sister-in-law, Madeleine (William) Brake (Corner Brook), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Mae was predeceased by her husband, John Michael Barry (1986) and by her parents Joseph and Katie Peckford, brother Edwin Peckford, all from Clarke’s Head, Gander Bay; brother-in-law Don Ralph (Gander) and baby sister Maureen, 9 months. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 Noon. The funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road , ith Father Edward Terry and Father Edwin Gale officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
