It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Hugh MacDonald on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in MacAdam’s Lake, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Currie) MacDonald.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing tarabish and bingo.
Hugh is survived by daughter, Lori-Ann Tracey, Moncton, N.B.; sons, James and John MacDonald, MacAdam’s Lake; sister, Annie MacDonald; brother, Michael MacDonald; grandchildren, Cheryl Ann Tighe, Michael MacNeil, Eric Wood; great-grandson, Jaxon, as well as niece Mary Theresa MacDonald.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Andrew Campbell, brothers, Michael Gregory and Joe, special friend, Theresa Pettipas.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held on 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay, with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating. Burial to take place at a later date.
