GAUDET, ALBERT - Albert Gaudet, 82, of Bas-Cap-Pelé, passed away on Monday, January 13th, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born on August 16th, 1931 in Bas-Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late François “Frank” and Anna (Brun) Gaudet. During his youth, Albert was an accomplished athlete, having made his mark as a pitcher in baseball and local leagues, he also played hockey with the Team Royals Dupuis Corner provincial champions in the early 1950’s. He was the owner of the smokehouse, Albert F. Gaudet and worked as a fisherman. He is survived by two brothers: Camille (Jeannette) of Cap-Pelé and Yvon of Bas-Cap-Pelé; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his four sisters: Germaine, Exelda, Anita and Edna; four brothers: Jude, Léo, Ferdinad and Joseph “Joe”.
As per his request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church in Cap-Pelé on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Albert, a contribution to the Ste-Thérèse d’Avila cemetery or to the IWK would be appreciated.
