The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, of Jane Wedge, formerly of St. Louis, aged 100 years. Wife of the late Clarence Wedge. She was born in Palmer Road on May 8, 1913, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Judith (Gaudet) Poirier. Dear mother to Elaine McCormick, O'Leary, Clarence Jr. (Janie) Wedge, Tignish, David (Rosie) Wedge, Summerside, Linda (Stephen) McCue and Beverley (Roland) Gaudet, St. Louis. She is also survived by sisters Eva Bernard, Tignish, Josephine DesRoches, Summerside, Hilda DesRoches, Alberton, and a sister-in-law Bertha Arsenault, Palmer Road. Loving grandmother to Colleen (Brian) Gallant; Blaine (Darlene) McCormick, Alan McCormick, Laura Lee (Ferris) Tweel, Derryl (Joan) Wedge, Danny (Tracey) Wedge, Michael Wedge, Randy (Carol) Wedge, Debbie (Jamie) Fox, Stephen Wedge, Curtis and Matthew Gaudet as well as 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Judith, stepfather John Amie, husband Clarence, grandsons Herb McCormick and Shawn McCue, granddaughter Pamela Gaudet, son-in-law Dennis McCormick, sisters Kate, Louise, Isabelle, brothers Nelson, Aldon, Amie, Eugene and Alphie. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday 1-2:30 p.m. Funeral will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, on Friday at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery Fund or Maplewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
