John Bjordammen, 77, passed away in his sleep January 8, 2014. He was born to the late Karl & Gurli Bjordammen December 8, 1936 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. John received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in 1958 graduating as class gold medalist. He married Marilyn Davis of Lubbock, TX in 1959. John received a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from University of Texas in 1966. John was predeceased by Marilyn in 1981. He worked for Texaco from 1958 to 1994. During his tenure at Texaco, John worked in Venezuela, Texas, Florida, Ecuador, New York and Colombia. After retiring, he continued to live in Colombia. John then relocated to Ajijic, Mexico where he enjoyed the temperate climate. In 2010 John moved to Wichita Falls, TX.

John was always a proud Canadian despite the fact that he did not live there after 1958. His passions included jazz and Latin music, baseball (especially the Montreal Expos) and hockey. John was a font of trivial information, which once qualified him to play on the game show Jeopardy!

John is survived by three children: Karen Murgiano (Charlie) of South Euclid, OH, Stephen Bjordammen (Meg) of Wichita Falls, TX, and David Bjordammen (Elise) of Blue Bell, PA. He is survived by five grandchildren: Mark & Christy Murgiano, Gwyneth & Joel Bjordammen, and Will Bjordammen. John is also survived by his sister Ruth Noble (Alain Forget) of Montreal, Quebec and his twin brother Rolf Bjordammen (Kay) of Oakville, Ontario as well as nieces and nephews Janet Noble and Eric Noble of Toronto, Ontario, Jeffrey Noble of Brooklyn, NY, Krista Barron and Karla Orr of Milton, Ontario and cousins Kirsten Bruun of Copenhagen, Denmark and Bjorn Aagesen of Auckland, New Zealand.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Floral Heights United Methodist Church, 2214 Tenth Street, Wichita Falls, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to McGill University or to a charity of choice.
