Passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, Gwendolyn I. Parsons at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish a lifetime of happy memories, son Calvin (Wanda) Parsons; grandchildren: Penny (Michael) Wells and Peter (Cheryl) Parsons; great-granddaughter Melanie Wells (Michael Wood); sisters: Maxine House and Frances (Bertram Jr.) Hann; brothers: Ray (Mercedes) Brake and George (Avril) Brake; sisters-in-law: Molly Brake, Ettie (Gerald) Stratton, Mona Piercey, Doreen Anderson and Doris Parsons; special friend Lydia O’Quinn, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Richard “Dick”; son Eric; parents Francis and Maude Brake; mother and father-in-law Samuel and Julie Parsons; brothers: Reginald (Shirley) Brake, Roland Brake, Clifton Brake, Noble (Mary) Brake and Rouse Brake; sister Mona (Owen) Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law: Albert House, Gordon Piercey, Reginald Anderson, Verdie (Chesley) Harris, Dorothy (Raymond) Christopher, Jane Parsons and Gilbert Parsons. Friends may visit St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerside on Tuesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery in Summerside. We wish to thank the staff and nurses at the Long Term Care Home for the wonderful care of our mother. Also, thank-you to all those who helped our family during this difficult time.
