WHALEN; Frank, passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, January 20, 2014 Frank Whalen of North West Brook, aged 92 Years. Predeceased by his parents Minnie and Samuel Whalen, brothers; Chesley and Ernest, sister Jane, daughter Belle and two grandsons; Derrick and Dewayne. Leaving with fond and loving memories his wife Mildred (nee Smith), four sons; Samuel (Mary), Barry (Corinne), Bruce (Lorena) and Frank Jr. and two daughters; Vera (Andrew Soper), Leona (Gary Parmiter), 11 grandchildren; Desmond, Lynette, Jessica, Tracey, Charlotte, Renee, Nancy, Rodney, Michelle, Robyn, and Nathan, 41 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Special thanks to his two caregivers Myrtle Smith, and Shirley Soper, as well as the doctors and staff of Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital for the special care he was given. Rested at the Pentecostal Church, North West Brook. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 with interment at the North West Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Kidney Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fewer’s Funeral Home.
