McCRUM, ROBERT PHILLIP - With deep sadness, the family of Robert McCrum, announce his passing on January 7, 2014 at Brockville, Ont. Robert was born in St Stephen, NB on August 24, 1921 and was raised in McAdam, NB. He was the oldest son of the late Margaret (Pheeney) and Guy McCrum. He served in WWII from 1940 – 1945. In 1946, he married Pauline (Bishop) of Chipman, NB. In 1952, he accepted a position with C.P.R. and moved his family to the Smith Falls Area where he worked for 40 years. He is survived by his wife Pauline (Bishop), children Harold (Jane), Stoney Creek, Ont., Barbara McCready (Bill), Thunder Bay, Ont., Lorana Potts (Dan), Marion, Virginia, USA, Carol (Kate) Scott (Fraser), Toronto, Ont. and Phillip (Katherine), Vancouver, BC, sisters-in-law Vida Maxwell (late Byron), Saint John, NB, Myrna Till (Brian) Oak Point, NB, brother-in-law Raymond Bishop (Marita) Oromocto, NB, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Robert was predeceased by his brother Roger McCrum (Chris) Trenton, Ont. and sister-in-law Thyra Gander (late Robert) Montreal, PQ.
Resting at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N. Smith Falls, Ont. visiting will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the Chapel at 1 P.M. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
