NEWELL-GREEK, Shirley Ann. It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Ann Newell-Greek, 56, of Hubbards, Nova Scotia, announces her sudden passing on Saturday, January 18, 2014. She was born to Herbert and the late Maureen Newell in Baccaro, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia on April 20, 1957. When Shirley graduated from high school she went on to receive her certificate in cosmetology in hair styling. In her early years Shirley took pride in her hair styling working from her home salon so she could be closer to her children during their school years. Later on in life she turned her passion to Real Estate in which she received her Real Estate license. In her spare time she loved to cook, travel, and spend time with her children. Shirley had a smile that could light up a room and her hugs gave a feeling of warmth like no other. She treasured the times she spent with Chantel, Clay and Braden. Shirley is survived by her three children, Richard Newell of East River; Clayton and Chantel Greek of New Germany; a grandson, Braden Newell of Bridgewater; a brother, Herbert (Amy) Newell, Cherry Hill and a sister, Wendy (Ed) Haarstad, Pigeon Lake, Alberta; her father, Herbert (Lorraine) Newell, Vogler’s Cove; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Her wonderful spirit, joy and talents will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at a later date.
