FAULKNER, RONALD ARTHUR - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ronald A. Faulkner of Prince William, NB, on January 25, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Ron was born on May 25, 1937 in Woodstock, NB, a son of the late Robert and Elva (Corey) Faulkner. He spent his early years working in the grocery business in the Woodstock area. In 1973 Ron purchased the Nackawic Save-Easy, retiring in 1996. He loved serving his customers and made many friends. Ron was, above all, a great family man and friend. He was an avid railroad collector with an extensive collection of artifacts and railroad memorabilia and enjoyed sharing his collection with visitors. Ron was an enthusiastic sports fan with a passion for baseball. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne M (McAllister) Faulkner; his children, Ross Faulkner (Lisa) of McAdam, NB, Karen Lavigne (Kevin) of Fort McMurray, AB and Keith Faulkner of McAdam, NB; his step-grandchildren, Karen L. MacKinnon, Whitehorse, YT, Jason Swan, Stoney Plain, AB; his grandchildren, Shannon Gardiner (Dwain), Justin Faulkner (Sarah), both of McAdam, NB and Brad Lavigne (Ashley), Fort McMurray, AB; his great grandchildren, Ceirra and Chantal Gardiner of McAdam, NB; brothers-in-law, John McAllister (Barb), Amherst, NS and Gary McAllister (Judy), Upper Kingsclear and Green Mountain, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a brother Robert Faulkner and a sister, Audrey Everett.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Church, 15 Mazerolle Settlement Road, Upper Kingsclear, NB at 2 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the Prince William Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Shaw, Wendell Lemon, Lloyd McGuire, Charles Dickinson, Jean Landry and Danny McCracken.
