TRENTON – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Christena Westaway, age 91, of Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton and formerly of Duke Street, Trenton, on Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Born in Georgetown, PEI, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Irving) MacDonald.
She was a member of First United Church, Mary Unit U.C.W.; Steeltown Friendly Group and the Orange Lodge. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky (Isaac) Clarke, New Glasgow; sons, Richard (Bonnie), Loon Lake; Kevin, New Glasgow; grandchildren: Erin, Richard, Leah, Lila Dawn, Leah and Lesley; great-grandchildren: Nathanial, Breanna, Cole, Dakota, Zack, Ayreal and William; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard “Ted”, grandson, Rick Clarke; five sisters and five brothers.
There will be no visitation or funeral by request. A family graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
