The family of Gordon Antle regret to announce his passing on Jan. 23, 2014, after a brief illness.
Born March 1, 1930 and raised in "the Pier", he was the son of the late Ray and Kate (Weeks) Antle. He worked at the steel plant before joining the RCAF, where he served on several bases, including Edmonton, Alta.; Metz, France; Shearwater, N.S.; Greenwood, N.S. and Comox, B.C., where he retired.
In his youth he played hockey but his greatest love was music and playing his guitar and singing. Many summers he returned to Cape Breton and entertained family and friends for hours.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Doreen; stepchildren, Lean and Ashly; six step-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond 'JR' and Edward, Sydney; sister, 'Stash', Toronto; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mary (Bennett) and Loretta (Jamieson) and brother, James.
At his request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
