Kevin K. Tobin, age 60 of Dartmouth passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Sydney, N.S., he was the son of the late Reginald 'Bussie' and Lucy (Ingram) Tobin.
Through his working years Kevin held a variety of positions including firefighter and most recently operating his own small business. He was an active community volunteer and enjoyed many discussions about politics and community events while enjoying a great cup of tea. Kevin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was quick to provide assistance to relatives and friends. He was also an accomplished handyman.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth 'Liz' (Pertus); his two daughters, Kelly Tobin, Dartmouth, Amy (Jonathan) Wamback, Upper Tantallon; sister, Donna Keough, Sydney; grandson, Leland Wamback and nephew, Mark MacKinnon, Sydney,.
He will be sadly missed by his four legged friend, Ozzy.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. Jane Clattenburg officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Metro SPCA.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Adams, Dr. Van Zoost, Dr. Keating and the nursing staff at the Dartmouth General for the wonderful compassion and care that Kevin and his family received.
