Passed peacefully away at his residence in Miramichi N.B, on January 23, 2014, James (Jim) Christopher formerly of Mall Bay, SMB, NL, age 63 years. Predeceased by his father Edmund in 2012, and brothers-in-law and dear friends, Brian Critch and Eugene Breen. Jim leaves to mourn his quiet and caring presence, his wife of thirty-eight years, Carol (Daly), his daughter and pride of his life, Kerri, son-in-law and wonderful Dad, Jorma (Jr) Torkkeli, and beloved grandsons Jari and Kai, who brought so much joy to the last two years of his life. Jim's devoted and loving mother, Mary (Gorman) who was always so precious to him, and his uncle, Frank Gorman. His sisters, Eleanor (Ivan) Adams, Bernadette Critch, and Cheryl (Dennis) Ellis. His brothers, Stephen (Bernadette) and Edmund (Sherry), brother-in-law Al (Bridget) Daly; sisters-in-law Marg Breen, Shirley Robichaud (Chris Anderson) and Georgina (Wayne) Johansen, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. As he requested, Jim's ashes will be buried near his Dad this summer at home in Newfoundland, where his heart has always been.
