It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of John 'Jackie' Timothy Robinson, age 49, on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in North Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, Jackie was the son of the late Fredell and Ethel (Hatcher) Robinson.
Jackie was a skilled woodworker for several years in Toronto at Sommerville Merchandising Inc. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his lifelong friend Jerry Apestiguy and loved his two children dearly. Jackie was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
He is survived by his two children Meaghan Bragg (Eric Vickers), North Sydney and Jarrett Robinson, PEI; three grandsons and one granddaughter, his siblings Walter (Cathy), Robinson, Alex Robinson, North Sydney, Ronnie Robinson, Sydney, Joe (Diana) Robinson, Cleveland, Ohio, Bonnie Robinson (Victor), Sydney, Cora (Ron) Shaw, Bras d’Or, Naomi (Lawrence) Boutilier, North Sydney, Janie Robinson (Roger Quirk), North Sydney; his companion Patsy Penny; also by two special people in his life, Jordann and Spencer and their mother, Dawn Ferguson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Jackie was predeceased by a granddaughter; his brothers Fred, Leo, Clayton and Danny and his niece Andrea Robinson.
Visitation for Jackie will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
