Peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2008, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer, of Martin J. Doyle, Tignish, aged 63 years. Beloved husband and cherished companion of Brenda (nee Gaudet) Doyle. Loving father of Marty, special “Pops” to Mona and precious son-in-law to Stella Gaudet, Leoville. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Stephen (Paula), Toronto; Laura, Charlottetown; Justin; Maureen; Elizabeth (Reggie) Knox; Carmen; Lorne (Marie); Helena (Bruce) Pitre and Ann (Wornie) McAllister, all of Tignish. He is also survived by brother and sisters-in-law Dave (Diane) Gaudet, Ajax, Ont.; Barbara Gaudet-Bernard, Summerside; Betty (Ronnie) Pitre, Emelda (Albert) Pitre; Claudette (Eddie) LeClair and Bernadette (Jerome) Arsenault, all of Tignish and Joanne (Tony) Cummiskey, Charlottetown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Boyd and Dorothy (Harper) Doyle, brother Louis, sister Bernadette, father-in-law Edmond Gaudet and brother-in-law Eric Bernard. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Thursday, October 30, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish, with funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Martin's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Tignish Health Centre.
