It is with sadness and broken hearts that we, the family of Ethel Marie MacDonald, announce her peaceful passing on Friday, January 31, 2014, surrounded by her family, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Malcolm (Raye), Sydney; Brian (Bonnie), Springhill; David (Angie), Kinmount, Ontario; daughters, Sharon (Glen Weston), Truro; Denece, Sarnia, Ontario; sisters, Esther (Tony Wadden), Shirley Shortliffe, Truro; brother, Willam (Helen), Barrie, Ontario. Ethel will be missed by her 15 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Allister and Florence MacLeod; sisters, Polly MacNeil, Shirley in infancy; brother, John MacLeod.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where Ethel’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel’s memory to Palliative Care Unit of Colchester East Hants Health Centre or Colchester East Hants Regional Library are welcomed.
