It is with sadness we announce the passing of Robert Albert ‘Bobby’ Cadden, 74, of Hudson Street, New Waterford on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the New Waterford Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Robert McNeil Cadden and Marion (Sheppard) Cadden.
Bobby was a carpenter by trade and a member of Calvin United Church. He loved fly fishing and had a great talent for tying flies. In his earlier days he also enjoyed hunting. He was a very gentle man who had a great sense of humour and quick wit. But mostly, Bobby will be remembered as a caring and loving family man.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (Parsons) Cadden; two daughters, Melissa (Richard Scott), New Waterford, Michelle (Emile Peckham), New Brunswick; one son, Darren from a previous marriage; two brothers, Billy (Mary), Charlie (Kay), both in New Waterford; one sister, Norma (Kenny McPhail), Ontario; five grandchildren, Mary Ellen Wilcox (Mark), Carole Anne (Oury Diallo), Samantha Peckham (Greg), Shawn Peckham, Joey Scott; one great grandchild, Aziz; sister-in-law, Violet Cadden, numerous nieces, nephews and his good buddy, Darrell Scott.
Bobby was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Sr.; a nephew, Alfred Jr. and a niece, Paula.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Duncan Roach is Wednesday, 2 p.m. in Calvin United Church, New Waterford. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Reception to be held in St. Leonard’s Hall, Convent Street. Bobby will be taken to the church at noontime, Wednesday.
