Freddy (Frederick) Gallant
GALLANT, FREDDY (FREDERICK) - (1941 - 2014) - ST-IGNACE, NB - Freddy Gallant, 72, of St-Ignace passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital, Moncton on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Born in St-Ignace, he was the son of the late Hubert and late Ozelie (Richard) Gallant. Before retiring, Freddy loved his work as a brick layer. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo in his spare time. Freddy will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 40 years; Bernice (Guimond) Gallant of St-Ignace, two daughters; Nicole Hart (Chris) of Calgary, Line Crossman (Kerby) of Dorchester, one son; Bruno Gallant (Amanda) of St. Charles, seven very special grandchildren; Josée, Genviève, Janelle, Joëlle, Marissa, Evan and Hunter. He is also survived by six sisters; Rosalie Richard (late Eugene) of Richibucto, Claira Vautour (Camille) of St. Louis, Yvette Daigle (Leo) of St. Charles, Huberte Daigle (Gerald) of Irishtown, Gilberte Melanson (Sam) of Dieppe, Marie-Mai Babineau (Fernand) of St. Louis, five brothers; Arthur (Nancy) of California, Aldoria (Dorthy) of Riverview, Alderic of Saint John, Rejeant (Chantal) of St. Louis, Norman (Jan) of Dieppe, two sisters-in-law; Jeannine Gallant and Rose-Yvonne Gallant both of St. Ignace and several nieces and nephews. Freddy was predeceased by one daughter; Lise and five brothers; Leonide, Alphée, Roger, Camille and Gerry.
Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Thursday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 am, St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St-Ignace. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Donations in Freddy`s memory may be made to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Oncology Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
