ARTHUR LEAL CREAK

ARTHUR LEAL CREAK

Arthur Leal Creak, 75, died Monday, January 20, 2014, after several years of fighting cancer.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Art joined the navy as a young man and married Maren Andre. They moved to Dawson Creek where Art was a machinist and ran his shop, A & C Cylinder Head Rebuilders. Art and Maren spent many happy years in the North raising their two children. Art loved hunting and fishing, and the family enjoyed riverboating every summer weekend. Together, Art and Maren built their dream log home. Once the kids were grown, they focused on the next dream, a boat to live on. They bought the Edge and moved to Gibson’s B.C. Art lost Maren to cancer in 2000.
Art was one of the “real men don’t eat quiche” kind of guys. He worked hard all of his life, even at play. Fishing on his boat, the Edge, was a great joy to him. When he wasn’t fishing, he was kayaking, quading, motorcycling or chopping down trees and hauling fire wood.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him; his partner for the past 10 years, Janice Barrow, who joined him in everything he did; his children Tony and Darcie and their spouses Michele and Michael; Janice’s children Katie and Christina; his siblings Laurie and Ellinor; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde, Lawrence, Beverley and Bonny and their families; all of his grandchildren; and his extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will take place in the summer.
