LeBLANC, MARIE-ANNE - 1933 - 2014 - SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Marie-Anne LeBlanc 80, passed away peacefully at the Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Born in St-Louis on May 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Olézine (Guimond) Babineau. Marie-Anne will be sadly missed by her ten children, Jeanne d’Arc (Brent), Vincent (Yvonne), Alberte (Raymond), Marielle (Gerry), Louis, Jean (Lisa), Claude (Annette), Lise (Jean-Paul), Lisette (Dave) and Pierre (Judith); her fourteen grandchildren; her seven great grandchildren; her special friend, Elzéar; her sisters and brothers, Lorette, Cécile, Yvette, Andréa, Yvon, Fidèle, Roger, Alcide; and also by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by the father of her children, Albert and also two brothers François, André and one sister Anita.
Visitation will be at Thompson Memorial Home in St-Louis on Thursday, February 6, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, February 7, from 9 until 10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the St-Louis-des-Français Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 am. Marie-Anne received the Diamond Jubilee Medal Award for all her years of volunteering her time to many organizations. The family would like to say Thank You to the staff of the Foyer Bois Joli, the Stella-Maris Hospital and the ICU at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital for their tender care and professionalism.
