Chad Rice
RICE, CHAD - It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Chad Brian Rice, surrounded by Family and Friends, which occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous nine year battle with cancer. Born 1977, in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL he was the son of Max and Debbie (Poole) Rice. Chad was an avid Calgary Flames fan; he loved to play hockey and softball and enjoyed singing karaoke and spending time playing hockey with his son. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, love of life and love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife of nine years Kim (Tofts) Rice; son Ashton Rice and stepson Devin Kotlowski; brothers Jason (Heather) Rice of Gander, NL and Clifford (Lisa) Rice of St. John’s, NL; nieces Shakira, Tori and Alia; nephew Nicholas; as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and in laws. Chad was predeceased by his grandmother Dawn Rice and grandfathers Stanley Rice and Reg Poole.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John, NB (646-2424) on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday February 11, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
