It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Melvin Baxter Avery, age 70, from Long Beach at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on February 7, 2014. Predeceased by parents, Walter and Alice Avery and sister, Eugena Spurrell and brother-in-law, Roland Vaters. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife of nearly 45 years, Dinah ; sons, Brian and Conrad; brother, Stanley (Brenda) Avery; sisters, Audrey Vaters, Ida (Cater) King, Ivy (Donald) Spurrell and Christine (Albert) Smith; brother-in-law, Jacob Spurrell; nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. Marks Anglican Church, Long Beach from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Robert Tuck and Rev.
