Balesdent, Agnes Phoebe- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Agnes Phoebe Balesdent, 86 of Stellarton and the Valley View Villa on February 10, 2014 to join the love of her life Clem.
Born and raised in Stellarton she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Margaret(O’Callaghan)Saunders.
At the age of 19 she married Clem and began her life as the spouse of a Royal Canadian Air Force member with postings across Canada and overseas. They raised their family of 2 sons retiring to Stellarton in 1973. Agnes loved to knit, read and bake, and was an avid coronation street fan.
She is survived by her son Claude(Paula), a sister Mary Dickson, grandsons Dennis, Jason, Jeffry and Jamie, sisters-in-law Lorraine Smith and family, Stellarton; Noemi Balesdent, Ontario; Louise Gill and family, Ontario; brother-in-law George Carrabin and family, nieces and nephews and family members in NS, NB and Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband Clem, a son Clement Jr. a sister Rita Alaffe.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 1-4pm Saturday at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton.
Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to the Valley View Villa, Riverton, the VON or to a charity of one’s choice.
At this time the family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Valley View Villa and to long time friend Kay Hoare.
