RYDER, RODGER - On Tuesday, February 12, 2014, Rodger Ryder, loving husband of Kathy (Doyle) Ryder, passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he is the son of the late Roy and Muriel (Tayes) Ryder and step son to Ruth (Belding) Ryder. Rodger was a loyal employee of the Delta Brunswick Hotel in maintenance for 23+ years. He had a love of computers and was passionate about wood working. Rodger was very good with his hands and could accomplish just about any project. Along with his step-mom Ruth and his devoted wife Kathy, Rodger is also survived by the center of his world, his children. He was a wonderful father and will be forever remembered by his son Neal and daughter Sabrina at home; brothers Thomas (Judy) Wells, NB, Don (Joan) Sussex, NB, Frank (Sharon) Shediac, NB, Glen Saint John, NB and Kenneth Ottawa, ON; sister Elaine (Tom) Conway Saint John, NB, as well as many extended family members. In addition to his parents, Rodger was also predeceased by his sister Marilyn Kiernan.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visiting Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment at a later date. Following the funeral, a reception will be held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rodger’s memory can be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Main Street or the charity of the donors choice.
