Mary Mariash passed away in Regina on February 11, 2014 at the age of 91. Mary was born in Alvena, SK April 11, 1922 and moved to St. Denis with her parents in 1925 where she attended school. In 1936 she moved to Barford, SK (south of Tisdale). In 1940 Mary married Walter Mariash and they farmed the homestead until 1975 when they moved to the town of Porcupine Plain, SK. She worked at several jobs between 1966-1992 which included hotel, store, nursing home and drug store. Predeceased by husband Walter in 1977; brothers Bill, Michael, and John Makowksi; sisters Pauline Luchinski and Annie Armstrong; niece Elaine Copeman; sons-in-law George Wolowski, Bill McKenzie, and Carl Williams; and daughter-in-law Rosalind Mariash. Mary is survived by sons Edward (Gloria) Mariash of Stoney Mountain, MB and Paul Mariash of Abbotsford, BC; daughters Christine (Bert) Erickson of Port Alberni, BC, and Yvonne (Terry) Gabriel of Moose Jaw, SK; brother Nick (Bernie) Mallory; and sister-in-law Rose Makowski; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prayers for Mary will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 7:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday February 26, 2014 at 2:00pm. For those so wishing memorial donations may be made to Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation or Saskatchewan Diabetes Association.
