HARRIS, Dora Frances – 87, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Little River Harbour, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 17, 1926 in Comeau’s Hill, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Therese (LeFevre) Jacquard. Dora was a homemaker and she enjoyed music and dancing. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Paul) Fitzgerald, Alice (Loring) Clairmont, Marion (James) Jacquard and Susan (Mitchell) Penney, as well as by her grandchildren, Donald, Michael, Laurianne, Barb, Yvette, Lisa, Amy, Melissa, Megan, Michelle, Melanie, Mandie and by her great-grandchildren, Corry, Kristen, Logan, Cody, Ryan, Colin, Danielle, Alyssa, Colton, Garrett, Jonah and Kinsley. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Enos “Snookie” Harris, as well as by brothers, Willie, Henri, Francis, Gerald, Gilbert and by sisters, Rose-Emma Jacquard, Marion Jacquard and Vena Henderson. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 3, at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Comeau’s Hill, Father Gerald David officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
