We, the family of late Genevieve (Jenny) MacDonald, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother who passed away of December 22, 2013, wish to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to our friends, relatives, neighbours and co-workers for their kindness and support on the loss of one of the most respected, caring and courageous person we ever knew, our Mom. To all who sent card, flowers, monetary donations, had Masses and attended the service, sent food to our homes or phoned; your compassion will never be forgotten. To the Palliative care and VON who took care of Mom, and treated her with so much respect and dignity we will always remember your kindness. To Dr. Michel McKeough, thank you of your home visits and giving her the care that she needed and the kind words of hope, we thank you. To Dr. Forouzesh and the nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Cancer Center who cared for Mom and showed their kindness each time she visited, we thank you. To Peter, Dan and staff of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home in North Sydney your professionalism and compassion is second to none. To Mom’s nephews, Marvin MacDonald for his violin rendition of Amazing Grace during the service, thanks, Mom would be so proud. Thank you to Fr. Patrick O’Neil of St. Joseph Parish for your home visits and for assisting with the service. To Mom’s nephew fFr. Conrad Edwards, for your many home visits and words of inspiration and hope, we thank you. To Mom’s nephew Fr. Bill Crispo for having such a beautiful service and speaking words of Mom, that were so true to the heart, it made us feel so proud of her, we know you made her smile, we thank you very much, you are and will always be a true friend of our family. To Mom’s good friend Aldona Luitkus and her daughter-in-law Peggy MacDonald, we thank you for the readings during the service. And to the choir of St Joseph’s Church, thank you for the beautiful hymns, to the ladies of St. Joseph’s for preparing the beautiful lunch after the service, we thank you. To each and everyone of you who helped ease our grief during the loss of our Mother, we thank you. To all who helped in the care given to Mom at home during her illness and making her feel so comfortable, your compassion and support will never be forgotten, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
