The family of Pearl Dorothy Parsons announces with great sadness her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the age of 85 years. She will be sadly missed and leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons: James (Nina) Parsons and Paul (Donna) Parsons, Corner Brook; cherished grandchildren: Vicki, Carla, Jenna and Tyler. She is ­survived by her sister, Carrie Ryan, Port Saunders; brothers: Walter (Margaret) Hamlyn, Corner Brook and Fred (Clemmie) Hamlyn, Gander; sister-in-law, Hazel Hamlyn, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Meshach Parsons, in 1986; parents, Emily and Cyrus Hamlyn; brothers: George, Thomas, Richard, Robert, Calvin (Bud), Albert and Howard Hamlyn; sisters: Edna, Iola and Gladys; sisters-in-law: Blanche, Clara, Eileen and Josie; brother-in-law, Charles Sutton. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive, with Rev. Canon Roberta Woodman officiating. Cremation to follow the service with interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Michael’s and All Angels Memorial Fund.
