DOUGLAS, Mrs. Doris. A resident of Truro, Nova Scotia, formerly Chatham passed peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in her residence at the age of 96. Born in Ituna, Saskatchewan to the late Metro and Anna [Yaschun] Markowski. Beloved wife of the late James William Douglas [1994] who gave her a wonderful happy life. She deeply loved her stepson Bruce David Douglas [Nancy]. She was a loving Mom to her deceased daughter Phyllis [2003] [Rolly Rousseau], her grandchildren Rolly, Ricky, and Randy, great grandchildren Eric, Cody, Kara, Jake. Mom is survived by her son Edward [Rose][her bingo partner], grandchildren Christine[Troy], Jason [Laurena], Christopher, Wendy, Tracy - great grandchildren Josh, Cole, Chloe and many nieces and nephews - and the love companion in her life, her pet terrier [Sparky]. Doris was predeceased by Brothers - Bill Markowski, Nick Markowski, Mike Markowski, John Markowski, Pete Markowski, and Sisters - Nellie Kitzul, Sophie Desrosiers, Mary Maximuck, Ann Bonner, and Lily Legroulx. Doris loved bingo, dancing to fiddle music and had a great passion for cooking the most delicious Ukrainian foods. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, February 19 from 1-2 pm for a time of gathering at BOWMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4 Victoria Ave. Chatham, ON (519-352-2390) followed immediately with a funeral service at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
