Robert "Bob" Thomas MacEwan , 58 of Oshawa, Ontario formerly of Westville passed away on February 13, 2014 at Thornton View Long Term Care ,Oshawa Ontario.
Born in New Glasgow, Bob was a son of Gleason "Mike" and Judith (Phinney) MacEwan of Millbrook, Pictou County.
Bob will lovingly be remembered by his parents; wife, Elizabeth "Beth"; daughter, Bret Mercer (Mike) and son Blake (Tony) all of Ontario; sisters, Joanne Sim (Hugh), New Glasgow; Michelle Parsonage (Frank), Lovat; Lisa Cullen (Brian), Kelowna; brother, Stephen (Myranis), Edmonton and several nieces and nephews.
After growing up in Westville, Bob attended Dalhousie University and transferred to Ryerson University where he received a Diploma in Social Work. At the time of his death, Bob was the President of the Thorton View Resident’s Council and sat on the Board of the Ontario Association of Resident’s Councils. Before his illness, He was a Social Worker with the Ontario Government
Bob is resting at Courtice Funeral Chapel, Oshawa where the family will receive friends on Monday February 17 th from 7-9 p.m. His funeral Service will be held on Tuesday February 18th at 1 pm. at the Funeral Home.
