GIGANTE, ALETHA FRANCES - 1917 - 1914 - Peacefully, Aletha Frances Gigante, 96, passed away at the Kenneth E Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton on February 14, 2014. Born in Malden, Aletha was a daughter of the late Burton and Victoria (Polley) Spence. Aletha was a homemaker for all of her life, caring for and loving her family. She will be sadly missed by her son, Wayne (Marceline) Allen of Cap Pele; a daughter Marcella (Douglas) Hicks of Moncton; seven grandchildren, Pam Hicks, Kimberley Hicks, Duane (Wendy) Hicks, Alan (Jodi) Hicks, Ian (Trudy) Allen, Kelly Allen, and Jamie (Martine) Allen; eleven great grandchildren, Melissa, Evan, Alex, Ryan, Courtney, Addisyn, Cyane, Jade, Maxium, Madison, and Brooklyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Aletha was predeceased by a grandson, Shawn Allen; her brothers John and Robert Spence as well as her two sisters; Verda Hawes and Hilda Whittle.
Arrangements for Aletha are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, February 17, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm from the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 pm. Pastor Gordon MacLeod officiating. Donations in memory of Aletha may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, The IWK, or The Lewisville Baptist Church. Private condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.jonesfuneralhome.ca.
