With saddened hearts, we the family of Faustina MacDougall regret to announce her passing on February 14, at the Galce Bay Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Ellen (Nolan) McMullin, Passchendaele.
Faus was a life long member of St. Anthony's Parish and Branch 40 Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed travelling and visited overseas with her veteran husband Hughie. She was employed at Jays Restaurant and later retired from Seaview Manor. Faus loved a good game of cards and made many friends travelling to the card games.
She was predeceased by her husband Hughie in 2001; brothers Dave, Justin, Lou and Matty; sisters Elizabeth McNeil, Cleo (Lokie) Robinson, Helen Stevens, Mary McKinnon and Marie Redmond.
She is survived by her sons Hughie F. (Anne), David (Michelle); daughters Patsy (John A. MacNeil), Lugene (Brian Petite); Faus is going to be dearly remembered by her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters Lily Rhodes and Kaye McNeil (Fabe).
Visitation will be (today) Monday, February 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at Holy Cross Church. The Rev Norman MacPhee will be officiating. The interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in the spring. Family flowers only.
