Peacefully at the Garden Home on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, of Miss Eleanor Mary Lowe of Charlottetown, age 107 years. Daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ellen (Stramberg) Lowe. Aunt of Sam (Jean predeceased) Lowe of Grand Prairie, Alberta; Eleanor Mary (predeceased) and David Mitchell of Charlottetown; Mary Ripley and Marion Knoll, both of Victoria, B.C. She was also precious to many grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. Miss Lowe was a well-respected member of the Island arts community for many years and will be greatly missed by her compatriots and many former pupils and by her good friends Levina Losier, Laura Mair, Catherine Tuck and Elinor Reynolds. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel for visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. No flowers by personal request, but if so desired, memorials to The Eleanor M. Lowe Art Schools Trust Fund or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated.
