STOREY, RONALD GORDON PhD. - Ronald Gordon Storey, PhD., of Stanhope, PEI, age 74 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI. Beloved husband of Wayne (MacDonald) and dear father of Kim (Ross MacDougall), Margo (Rod Murphy) and Craig (Carol). Devoted Grampie of Eileigh, Kyle, Alasdair, Callahan, Ryland, Mackenzie and Hudson. Brother of Gail MacNutt (Robert) and brother-in-law of David MacDonald (Deborah Sinclair), caring uncle to six nieces and nephews. Survived by many special aunts and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Lona (Duncan) Storey and Col. Frank J. Storey. After working at the family furniture store, Crockett and Storey, Ron decided to further his education. A graduate of U.N.B., Queen's University and Michigan State University, he and Wayne settled in Halifax in 1971 where he taught and later was the Director of the School of Business at Dalhousie University. The years in Halifax were also busy with consulting and travel but always included time at the cottage in PEI. Before retiring to the Island, Ron finished his career as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick. Ron then had more time for his interests in gardening, painting, tennis and golf. His zest for travel never ended and he and Wayne enjoyed many lovely trips together and with family.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel, Charlottetown, PEI from where the service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. Interment later in West Covehead Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, Charlottetown would be appreciated.
