CRAIGS, JEAN ORLAND - The passing of Jean Orland Craigs of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 27, 1923 in Sussex, NB, she was the daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Annie (Cassidy) Craigs. Jean worked as an Office Supervisor. She spent 32 years in Montreal, QC. Jean enjoyed oil painting and liked to travel in North America and Europe. Jean is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jean is the last surviving member of her immediate family; besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Wilkins and Marjorie Atherton; brothers, Gerald Craigs, Walter Craigs and William Craigs; sister in law, Frances Craigs and her special friend, Nan Craigs.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 12 to 2 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
