The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, of Mervyn A. Blacquiere (nee McAssey) of Charlottetown, age 65 years. Loving partner of Barry MacLaren. Beloved mother of Paula (Scott) Gallant of North Rustico, Debbie Blacquiere of Alberta, and Donna Blacquiere of Charlottetown. Dear grandmother of Jeffrey and Darcy Blacquiere, Michael and Brianne Ross. Mervyn is also fondly remembered by her former husband, Harold Blacquiere; mother, Isabelle McAssey; sister, Judy Cheverie (Kim LeRoux); and her brother, Selwyn (Cyndi) McAssey. She was predeceased by her stepson, Kevin Blacquiere. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 on Monday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
