
Clement "Brian" Gillespie
GILLESPIE, CLEMENT “BRIAN” - 1929 - 2014 - Clement "Brian" Gillespie, 84 years, of Sackville, NB., passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Catherine (Savage) Gillespie. He was employed with the Canadian National Railways working in transportation services. He was also employed as a 3rd class stationary engineer, department of Fisheries and Oceans, deckhand and oiler. He then was employed with the Canadian Reserve 113 Company, Moncton Garrison. He co-founded the Nova Scotia Grandparents Rights Association. Survived by four daughters, Beverly Gillespie, Catherine Gillespie of St. Louis de Kent, Leslie Gillespie of Sackville, and Laurel Gibbons of Ottawa, Ont. ; three sons, James(Bernice) of Leduc AB, Kevin of Devon AB and George Gillespie (Christina) of Fort Sask, AB.; one sister Mary Catherine Peters (Larry) of Charlottetown, PE.; one brother Dr. Terry Gillespie (Rose) of Halifax, NS.; nineteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Thelma Crossman in 2012; son Daniel; brothers Donald, Vincent, Raymond, Bernie and Patrick Gillespie.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford St. Moncton, on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:00 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating. A reception to follow immediately following the funeral mass. Interment will be in Shediac Road Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Brian's memory made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
