Rice, Harry Allan – 73, River John, Pictou Co., passed on to be with Jesus on February 19, 2014 at the QEII, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Harry was born in Orillia, Ont. on October 25, 1940. He was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Bush) Rice. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years before retirement. He particularly enjoyed woodworking and carpentry which he worked at in his earlier years. Harry was affiliated with the Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon. He was also an avid hunter and was noted to be a crack shot. He is survived by his soulmate, Sandra (Cooke); sons, Paul, Peter; stepdaughters, Alice Geary, Lisa Parfitt, Lorene Faulkner; brother, John, Ont.; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. No visitation by request. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at 2:00 pm at Pugwash Baptist Church, Pastor David Young officiating. Reception to follow the service.
