Fernand Morin of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014 at the age of 76. Born February 7, 1938, to Joseph and Rose Morin, he was 4th born of 12 children: Lucille, Juliette, Marie, Fernand, Alice, Jean-Louis, Noëlla, Madeleine, Léopold, Joseph, Geneviève, and Marguerite (Margo). Fernand was very much a devoted, loyal and caring family man. He took great pride in everything he did, whether it was at home or work. The loving and memorable dedication he showed toward his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends was always obvious in everything he did and said. Dad will always be remembered for his skills as a farmer, bus driver, and all the duties her performed at the Gravelbourg Court House, even the local church would call him to assist with boiler maintenance. He was a true handyman. There wasn’t anything Dad couldn’t fix or build, right down to gum in the hair. If there was a problem or something needed fixing, dad had the solution. Dad also loved having his coffee breaks with Mom and their friends to play a few hundred card games. Dad has instilled in all of us the great importance of faith, family, love, loyalty, and respect for ourselves and others. Fernand is predeceased by his wife Cecile, father Joseph and mother Rose, sisters, Lucille and Marie, and his brother Joseph. Fernand is survived by his children: Camille and Adreinne Morin, Michelle and Richard Collins, Francois and Karla Morin, Suzanne Morin, and Ronald and Tracy Morin; grandchildren: Alex, Anne-Marie, Keegan, Brian, Alysia, Melissa, Kane, Brock, Connor, Brendan, Madison, Sydney, Austin, Noah, and Lucas; and great-grandchild Hezekiah; six sisters, two brothers, and many other family members. An Evening Prayer Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Sunday February 23, at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday February 24, 2014 at 11:00 am. Father Rick Krofchek will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.
