FRIZZELL, Bessie May – Wynn Park Villa, Truro, formerly of Wood Street, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday morning, February 21, 2014, at Wynn Park Villa. Born in Lyons Brook, Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late James and Lelia (Leithead) Irving. Bessie was an adherent of Brunswick Street United Church and in earlier years was active in senior groups. Bessie is survived by her son, Fraser (Dolores), Chilliwack, British Columbia; daughters, Lois (John) Crowe, Riversdale; Brenda (Billy Ray) Smith, Parish, Florida; Helen (Osprey) Ingraham, Murray Siding; Claire (Wayne) Forbes, Truro; Judy (Frank) Ingraham, Lower Truro; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; niece, Georgina Irving, New Glasgow. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bert Frizzell; sisters, Catherine (Maynard) Weagle, Olive Irving, Helen Heilbron; brother, Lloyd (Catherine) Irving. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Bessie’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, Reverend John Parsons officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Haliburton Cemetery, Pictou. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Bessie’s memory to SPCA or Colchester East Hants Hospice Society are welcomed.
