It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Adeline Walton age 85 of Amherst announce her passing on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Parrsboro, NS she was a daughter of the late Rupert and Jessie (Morris) Canning.
Doris traveled half the world over with her children and husband who was in the Canadian Forces. They lived in France for three years where her son Michael was born.
She is survived by one daughter Sandra Maillet of Pugwash, two sons David of Vancouver, BC and Michael of Amherst, brother Bruce of Pembrook, ON, sister Audrey Maine of Pembrook, ON and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Stuart, sisters Mary Fortune and Emma Fulton and brothers Darrell, Cyril, Morris and Lewis.
There will be not visitation or funeral service.
A private graveside service will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
