STAPLETON , William Thomas – (May 18, 1922 – February 23, 2014) – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital with family at his side. Long -time employee with CFLC, and NL Hydro. William “Bill” Stapleton of St. John’s (formerly Marystown, NL) in his 91st year. Predeceased by his mother Mary Baker. Survived by wife Eva May (nee Campbell); sons Campbell (Louise), Ernest (Karen) and Scott (Christina); daughter Jan-Marie; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Farrell (Hugh, deceased), Hannah Power (Neil), Catherine “Kit” Ambrus (Denys, deceased) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to the staff of St. Clare’s Emergency and 7 East. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of the World Church, Topsail Road, Mount Pearl. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
